A Long Ride In America

The Roads Go On Forever

Motoguzzimomma here - Hi

Well, the time is fast approaching for our next trip to the USA. We fly back to Toronto and the bike at the end of May.

We´re hoping the battery has survived the extreme cold of a Canadian winter. With this in mind, we posted a message onto gtamotorcycle.com  asking if anyone might be able to help us either re-charge the battery or, if necessary find a new one. We had an amazing response of offers for help, use of workshops, tools and even accommodation.

Similarly, we asked for info on good routes / rides in California and again, received many generous offers of help and somewhere to lay our heads. So thanks to all those warm-hearted Americans.

As and when we can, we will update the site on this year´s trip: this usually means we have to find a library that will let us use their computers.

But here, roughly, is an outline of our plans:

Pick up the bike from storage and, after checking it out and routine maintenance, we head to Speaker´s Cycles in Steubenville - get the oil leak checked out.

A few days with friends Pete and Barb, then we will set off on a line that gets us to New Mexico as quickly as possible. We will camp in Taos, NM for a couple of days - amongst the Sangre De Cristo mountains and the mighty Rio Grande. We hope to visit some Taos Pueblos http://www.worldheritagesite.org/sites/pueblodetaos

From there, we will head back to the fabulous state of Utah to revisit some of the most spectacular scenery possible.

A couple of days camping near the Grand Canyon - this time on the north rim - before heading further west to Calñifornia.

More on that soon.
